It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jose Maria Silva lovingly known as "Djedje" at the age of 72 on
December 26, 2024.
José was born on July 22,1952 in the beautiful Cape Verde Island of Brava, to his beloved parents Maria Silva Santos and Francisco. He immigrated from Brava/Cape Verde to Benguela/Angola where he met the love of his life and relocated to Portugal and then to the USA. His journey from Brava island to Central Falls, RI was one of resilience, determination and an enduring love for his Cape Verdean heritage and family. His love for his family was the foundation of his life.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He took immense pride in seeing his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow, thrive and become the best versions of themselves.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Rosa Maria Silva “Princesa” his children José “Zezinho”, Maria “Geninha”, Henry “Jicky” and his wife Gina, Cláudio, Manuel “Nené/Manny” and his wife Deusa, Jacqueline, Jéssica and Jannay “Nay” Silva, his grandchildren Dylon, Dante, Marcus, Matthew, Adam, Isaiah, O’Liviah, Hazel’Lee, Belinda, Makhi, Khailinda, Khailon, Juelz, Adrian and great-grandchildren Gyselle, A’Layna and Aziel. His 17 Siblings, 72 nephews and nieces and many friends. We will forever hold him in our hearts.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 10am-1pm followed by a funeral home service at 1pm in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. Burial private.
